Labor Day Weekend Day 3
Sadly, the holiday began with a bit of repair work. When Southern Man pulled in last night he noticed that his mailbox was down, so the first chore of the morning was to put it back up. While doing so a neighbor strolled by (literally: she was pushing a stroller) and Southern Man found that a brick mailbox up the road had also been knocked over.
Southern Man hates vandals and property criminals with the white hot fury of a thousand burning suns. That's not a very Christian attitude, but that's the way he is.
Then it was off to town for the singles group Labor Day picnic at the big park on the big lake.
The big lake is really down due to the drought.
Kids eating and playing.
Grownups doing the same.
After the picnic Southern Man went home and spent the rest of the evening cleaning up and getting the kitchen into shape. His first attempt to cook an actual meal (steak and potatoes and a salad) came off all right but cleanup without running water is a pain. Tomorrow it is back to work!

I watched the Dem convention on c-span yesterday. I saw for myself that the 2/3 vote needed to amend GOD back into the party platform was a joke...maybe 50/50 or 40/60. What would have happened if the nays ruled? What would the party now be doing via public opinion? Do you know what I am talking about? Oh, Pres does believe Jerusalem to be the capital of Israel...West Jerusalem for them and East Jerusalem for the Pal. Doesn't the Bible say not to divide that city?
Riley-
I once spent Halloween standing in front of my house dressed as a mailbox. Nobody ever messed with my letters again.
Good Morning Southern Man! Just read the beginning of you blogging. I hope it has helped you as you hoped it would. Would you sincerely recommend blogging for others trying to work situations out in their mind? Anything you would advise differently?
The blog started as therapy; now it's a hobby and an excuse to take and post pics of family and friends. I find that it does help me to work through issues or positions, but YMMV. The bottom line is, I blog 'cause it's fun.
