Southern Man

Well last week Southern Man promised he'd fix the leaks in The Barn and progress has been made. The drip on the south roof has been repaired (in the courses of earlier work Southern Man had installed some flashing incorrectly) and a problem on the south side has been temporarily amended. All that remains is to build an overhang over the north door and that work has begun.

And in addition with that week off (and it really was off; Southern Man's office was off limits for the week) Teen Daughter and Southern Man did a lot of shopping and running around and saw some movies and got their season passes to the local water park and amusement park.

And today begins seven weeks of summer teaching so Southern Man will have something of a regular schedule for a while. He will spend this week continuing to settle in to the new office and jumping through a few HR hoops and getting up to speed on a couple of new courses he'll teach this fall. And enjoying the beautiful weather (translation: not raining) and geocaching (yesterday Southern Man logged his 1300th find) and such. It's going to be a good summer.

what does your teen daughter do out there on the land when you are working? will she be with you the entire summer?

She spends most of her hand at the Ancestral Manor with her beloved grandparents and has avoided The Land this summer claiming to be "allergic to the outdoors."
